Graphic Novel Memoir Course with Navied Mahdavian
START WEDNESDAY 2 APRIL 6:30-8:30
Tell your story with words, pictures, and humor!
New Yorker cartoonist and author of the graphic memoir, "This Country" (an NPR, New Yorker, and Barnes and Noble Book of the Year), Navied Mahdavian will help you get started on this arduous but rewarding (and frequently silly) path.
In this six-week course, you'll go from the basics, like gathering and organizing material, to more advanced subjects, like finding a visual style and storytelling strategies to help you go beyond the outline (that dreaded outline). Through guided activities and workshops (and so much drawing), you'll develop and refine your own comics, from short four-panel comics to multi-page narratives.
No drawing or writing experience necessary! Silliness preferred.
